What can I expect during the immersion?
Living in traditional wooden houses (Uma)

Learning jungle skills (e.g., making poison arrows, sago processing)

Participating in daily tasks like cooking, fishing, or gathering

Observing or participating in spiritual or shamanic rituals if we are lucky to be there

Bathing in the river and sleeping on mats or simple beds

GETTING THERE

Where are the Mentawai Islands located?
How do I get to the Mentawai Islands?
Step 1: Fly to Minangkabau International Airport (PDG) in Padang, West Sumatra.

Step 2: Take a ferry (typically 4-6 hours) from Padang’s harbor to Siberut Island.

Step 3: From Siberut port, continue for preparations to reach the village or Uma.
